This event will benefit the Sacramento SPCA and the County Animal Shelter.  You can drop off your books at the Health Center in the WELL at the Health and Wellness Promotion office (room 1011) from 8:00am-5:00pm from May 1st-May 27th or bring them the day of the event. This is only the second time this prestigious regatta will be held on the west coast in its over 100 year history.  The IRA’s were held on the west coast for the first time here on Lake Natoma four years ago with great success.  This year, there will be over 40 rowing teams from across the nation competing for national titles.  Universities represented include Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Cal Berkeley, Washington, Princeton, the U.S. Naval Academy, and many others.  This event draws crowds of thousands to beautiful Lake Natoma, the nation’s premiere rowing venue on the west coast.  Come on out and enjoy fantastic racing from the best crews in the nation.    There will also be plenty of vendors to peruse and sights to see, so don’t miss out! North Sacramento Family Resource Center's 11th Annual Uptown Street Fair  provides families with a free, fun way to learn about health, safety,  and preventative community resources. 30 volunteers (age 18 or over) are  needed to help assist with all aspects of this event including set up,  booths and activities, and refreshment stations. Pre-registration required. To volunteer or to learn about future Sac State Serves events, please complete our online registration form. Specific event location provided to registered volunteers approximately a week prior to the event. Sac State Serves is a community service program open to the campus community. Designed for the adventurous beginner, this all day course provides an introduction to outdoor climbing. We'll cover the basics: knot tying, belaying, general equipment use, and basic climbing techniques. While this course is focused on the beginner, the intermediate climbers will still learn valuable techniques to help you climb smarter and safer! Trip includes expert instruction by the Peak Adventures climbing staff, transportation, and all climbing gear.
