The 41st Annual Festival of New American Music continues with the Keynote Address, featuring legendary musician Terry Riley. Riley is a legendary composer and performer who was a pioneer of the minimalist school of Western classical music. He studied at Shasta College, San Francisco State University, and the San Francisco Conservatory before earning an MA in composition at the University of California, Berkeley. Riley was involved in the experimental San Francisco Tape Music Center, working with Morton Subotnick, Steve Reich, Pauline Oliveros, and Ramon Sender, and had a long-lasting assocation with the Kronos Quartet, writing 14 quartets for them.
