This show impels questions and asks the viewer to give objects a second look. The object of my work will be rocks, originally inspired by Luke 19:40 “He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”” The idea that rocks or stones can “cry out” or that they have a voice, a story is compelling. I have decided that I will use rocks that I have found to inspire for color and concept but not limit the work. My hopes for the show is that is would fuel conversation and ideas about a simple foundational object such as rocks. -Madison Short
