South Indian vocalist Sri. Abhishek Raghuram performs, along with Sri. B.U. Ganeshprasad on violin and Sri. Neyveli Narayanan on mridangam. Abhishek Raghuram hails from a family that brims with legendary musicians. Through the unique guidance of his grandfather, mridangam legend Sangita Kalanidi Sri Palghat Raghu and as a disciple of Sangita Kala Acharya Sri.P.S.Narayanaswamy, Abhishek has gained a deep insight into the intricacies of music and is emerging to be a defining contemporary Carnatic vocalist. At the age of 7, he was awarded Gold Medal for mridangam in the Mazhalai Medhai contest. He also won the first prize in the Pallavi singing competition organized by the S. Balachander Trust. Abhishek released his first album in 1999 for HMV Records in the Parampara Series where he performed with his grandfather. Since then he has sung and composed for various albums, recent ones being “Raga Expression” (part two) for EMI Virgin Records and “Pravruddha Sri” for Charsur Digital.
