The Flume Trail provides a truly amazing introduction to Tahoe mountain biking. With arguably the best views available from any trail around the lake, it is no wonder that this is such a popular and noteworthy destination. Throughout the trip between Spooner Lake and Tunnel Creek Station, you will experience a climb of about 1,000 feet spread over 4 miles, 7 miles of relatively flat trail hugging the Northeast Shore of Lake Tahoe at an elevation of around 8,000 feet. Complete your day with an absolutely exhilarating 2.5 miles of downhill riding. This trail reaches a high point of 8,157 feet and takes riders through remote areas surrounding the beautiful Marlette Lake and then along many miles of spectacularly exposed (although comfortingly wide) trails more than 3,000 feet above Lake Tahoe! One trip to the Flume trail and you will understand why this is considered one of the world’s most premier mountain biking trails. While the Flume trail does require a moderate level of physical fitness, the level of technical difficulty is relatively low, so beginning riders are welcome!

Trip includes guides and transportation. You provide your own bike and helmet. The bike must have multiple gears and be well maintained. Shocks and quality breaks are required. If you don't have a bike, we have a small number available for rent. The cost is $15 when rented as part of the trip. Be sure to reserve one early. Minimum age is 12.
