"An Evening with the Author: Chitra Divakaruni
Free community lecture & book signing

Alumni are invited to participate in the University's 2012-13 One Book community lecture & book signing featuring One Amazing Thing, written by author Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. Dr. Divakaruni will discuss
her book and answer questions.

The event is free and open to all members of the Sacramento community.  There will be a sign language interpreter.  Books are available for purchase in advance through the Hornet Bookstore.

Free parking will be available in Parking Structure III on the 6th floor only.

ABOUT THE ONE BOOK PROGRAM

The Sacramento State University One Book Program is pleased to announce the One Book for 2012-2013: Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s One Amazing Thing (Voice, 2010). The novel weaves together personal stories of nine people from various walks of life who become trapped in a basement of a visa office in the aftermath of an earthquake. As they wait to be rescued, the survivors reveal to each other “one amazing thing” in their lives that they have never shared before.

Dr. Divakaruni is an award-winning author, poet, and professor at the University of Houston, where she is the Betty and Gene McDavid Professor of Creative Writing.
