150 Volunteers are Needed to Help clean up Sac State during Alternative Spring
The Sac State Community Engagement Center is partnering with Sac State Sustainability, ASI Peak
Adventures, and the American River Parkway Foundation (ARPF) for a four day community service clean-up of California
State University, Sacramento and the nearby American River during Alternative Spring Break from Monday, March 20th
to Thursday, March 23rd, 2017.
Sac State students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to work on various campus sustainability projects for the first
two days and a clean-up of the nearby American River on the last two days. Service projects may include: mulching,
cleaning up debris, maintaining campus gardens, and/or building a community garden.
Volunteers can choose to participate for one day to all week, depending on availability. Morning and afternoon shifts
are available throughout the week.
Monday, March 20 Campus Sustainability Project 8:30am – 12:30pm
Tuesday, March 21 Campus Sustainability Project 12:30pm – 4:30pm
Wednesday, March 22 Keep the American River Beautiful 12:30pm – 4:30pm
Thursday, March 23 Keep the American River Beautiful 8:30am-12:30pm
Sac State Sustainability and the American River Parkway Foundation will provide training for volunteers. Lunch will be
served from noon to 1:00 and is being provided by Associated Students, Inc. A-Team at Sacramento State. All
participants will be given a volunteer t-shirt. The first 100 volunteers to register will receive a water bottle.
