Sacramento State welcomes alumni, friends and future Hornets for Homecoming festivities Friday and Saturday, Oct. 12-13.
Festivities kick off at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, with the Golden
Grads Reunion at the Alumni Center. Sac State graduates from 1962 and
earlier will gather to renew friendships and share memories. Graduates
and family members, as well as University faculty, staff and friends are
invited to enjoy a lunch and a walk down memory lane that includes
memorabilia and photos.
The Sac State campus will be filled with activity Saturday, Oct. 13.
It starts at 10 a.m. with Future Hornet Day, as prospective Sac State
students will have a chance to tour the campus, meet with faculty
members and attend information sessions on admissions, housing,
financial aid and more.
At 3 p.m. Saturday, the Swarm Days Festival kicks off. The
family-friendly event will feature booths, live music and entertainment,
Kidzone activities, great food and free gifts. Prizes will be awarded
to the best student and best alumni/community tailgate. Tailgate space
is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The festival concludes
with a procession featuring the Sac State marching band and dance team,
led by the University mascot, Herky.
Homecoming Week will reach its crescendo at 6 p.m. Saturday evening
as the Hornet football team hosts Weber State. The Hornets made national
headlines in September with a 30-28 victory at Colorado and are
currently 4-2 for the season.
