The second annual Farm-to-Fork festival is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Library Quad, and a team of students, staff, and faculty has been working over the summer to make the festival a success. Several events are planned around this year’s theme, “The Hands that Feed Us,” and fundraising is underway to benefit students in Sacramento State’s College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP).

The festival will include cooking demonstrations, food trucks, and more.  A screening of The Harvest – La Cosecha, the story of child farm laborers, will take place at 3 p.m. in the University Union, Hinde Auditorium, followed by a panel discussion. The keynote speaker, David Bacon, will be introduced by President Robert S. Nelsen at 5:30 p.m. in Guy West Plaza. Bacon has been documenting the lives of farmworkers in photographs and narratives for nearly 30 years. All events are free and open to the public.
