Please join us this Thursday, March 21, 2013 @ 4pm in Mendocino Hall 1015 as we welcome Dr. Uwe Bergmann from SLAC (Stanford Linear Accelerator Center).  Dr. Bergmann's lecture will be, "LCLS - The New X-Ray Laser at SLAC." 

Dr. Bergmann received his PhD in Physics from Stony Brook University, NY in 1994.  He is a Senior Staff Scientist at SLAC, where he is the Deputy Director of the Linac Coherent Light Source.  His research activities have focused on the development and application of novel x-ray spectroscopic techniques, including various high-resolution photon-in photon-out spectroscopies and x-ray fluorescence imaging.
