Assemblage, prints, paintings, and sculptures of various materials. Our artworks are primarily abstract revisiting components from abstract expressionism and post-minimalism. Kayelynn Welsh is juxtaposing contrasting materials with abstract, often visceral forms in order to express her response to perceived societal norms regarding gender and sexuality. Nathan Nguyen is creating stratified objects with materials that imbue a radical sense of gesture and represent a form of insularity that confront internalized trauma and manic depression. Elise Robins is struggling between creating reactionary paintings meant to disturb, disrupt, and unhinge viewers versus creating work that evokes a sense of serenity; she is discovering the subtle and infinitesimal stupefaction that exists within her periphery. We intend for the viewers to feel poignant, due to the connection of the human condition. In redefining our own truths about art, we battle to reject to what is known.

The R.W. Witt gallery is located in Kadema Hall on the CSUS campus. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 12 - 4:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
