CSUS One World Initiative, 2012, and Hima Mesopotamia are pleased to present Dr. Nadir Salman Abo-Tubikh of the University of Basrah Marine Science Center in Iraq. Dr. Nadir Salman will be visiting our campus to speak about the draining of the Mesopotamian Marshes of southern Iraq, efforts to restore the marshes and his extensive research on water quality, hydrology, fish ecology, and the socio-economic status of Marsh Arabs in the Huweza Marshes of southern Iraq. Dr. Salman has also been conducting research on aquaculture and sustainable development; he has been assisting local people to design locally made fish-rearing cages and enclosures.
