The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in collaboration with Pan African Studies, Women’s Studies and Cooper-Woodson College Enhancement Program welcome Dr. Keolebogile Shirley Motaung, Section Head and Managing Director of the Research & Innovation Department of Biomedical Sciences, Tshwane University of Technology, Tshwane, South Africa. Dr. Motaung will present a special lecture on tissue engineering as part of the fall 2013 Regenerative Medicine lecture series.

Currently, Dr. Motaung is the only black female and person in South Africa holding a Ph.D. in tissue engineering of articular cartilage. She will discuss her research in the field of tissue engineering of articular cartilage for the treatment of osteoarthritis
