On Thursday, October 4, 2012, please join us as we welcome Dr. Nima Mesgarani from the University of California, San Francisco. At 4pm in Mendocino Hall 1015, Dr. Mesgarani will present "Mechanisms of Selective Hearing in the Human Auditory Cortex."
Dr. Mesgarani is a postdoctoral scholar at the Neurological Surgery Department of UCSF. He received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland in College Park. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Speech and Language Processing at Johns Hopkins University prior to joining UCSF. His research interests include studying the representation of speech in the brain and its implications for speech processing technologies.
This talk is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Parking permits can be purchased in the yellow ticket stations at various locations around campus, for $6.00 (all day) or $3.00 (2-hour).
